artist statement
There are many familiar themes that run through my work; nature, iconic female deities, fairytales, ancient text, and hidden symbols.
Folklore and symbolism of my mixed heritage all brought together to tell a story.
I am a multi disciplinary artist, expressing through visual art(using watercolour and acrylic, and use other mediums to explore creativity), guitarist, singer/songwriter and drum circle facilitator with a back ground of West African, Irish and Middle eastern percussion.
I grew up in Calgary AB and have lived though-out different parts of Western Canada, I have resided in Eastend, SK since 2007 and have made it my home.
I have always been an artist and have taken a self directed approach thus far in my career and participated in community art events. Along side my art practice I spend time encouraging and teaching others to explore art in it’s many mediums.
My participation in the arts community includes: Eastend Arts Council, Founder of A.G.E.S - Artisans Guild of Eastend and Surrounding Areas, creating exhibitions and programming for Sask Culture Days, Visions of Eastend and Artist in Community SAB Grant with Eastend Historical Museum.
